IRR – I Ride Rogue is a dedicated group of adventure enthusiasts who love to explore the far reaches of Oregon and the more outback destinations of the four surrounding States. We get people together to experience things that they may never have before. We learn how to navigate life on the trail and as families together. Over the years it has evolved into one of the greatest passions of adventure enthusiast John Fairrington. If you have a passion for adventure and developing life long friendships with guys and gals who will have your back. Then consider an IRR Backcountry Adventure Route (BAR). We provide all of the maps, great destinations, fueling, lodging, and camping info, along with comprehensive FAQ's, History, and things to consider for your adventure, taking the hard work out of planing a trip. IRR was founded in 2000. We have traveled just about every good backcountry road in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, along with adventures to Jasper and British Columbia, and 11 other states. For the last 8 years we have been centered on the development of our own, unique, IRR BXR Adventures, otherwise known as BACKCOUNTRY XCURSION ROUTES.
Simply put, it is getting on an adventure with God and as we do, We find that sweet spot in our story where everything culminates under Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our Faith! We want to help others discover how walk in intimacy and simplicity with God. If you are wounded, or captive, or lost, shut down, or broken at the level of the heart. We are passionate about seeing people restored. It is obvious that brokenness is just part of the human issue. We are all broken! We are born into this life with the baggage of sin. We spend our lives and live out our story while searching for satisfaction, hope, peace, love, and joy but it can only be found in one place, one person. I Ride Rogue exists for the purpose of helping people with a Rogue nature discover how to be restored into the nature of Christ and everything that He has intended us to be. It is our hope that as we journey together in remote places that you will discover that God is not distant and that conversation, closeness, and intimacy with Him is not only normal… It’s just the beginning!
WHY WE EXIST:
IRR exists for the sole purpose of introducing men and women to adventure. It is an opportunity to discover the outback regions of the North West, to explore the lives and stories of each other, and most importantly to discover the depth of Gods love, grace, plan and purpose for our lives. Adventure can be challenging but we are all on some kind of adventure and it becomes even more rewarding when we understand how God uses adventure in our lives to help us realize our full potential in a simple walk with Him while at the same time impacting the culture around us. It's not rocket science and we see it accomplished by simplistically becoming passionate about Him, understanding His story, learning how to recognize the Author and God of adventure, and last but not least, getting out there!!
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE:
We want to get people on the best adventures they will ever have with our Creator first and foremost. In order to move into the next season and to grow this ministry, IRR is restructuring in new ways which will offer opportunity to a broader community of riders and people who want to get on adventure. Ultimately, we want to not only make it easy to move into the sport of Adventure Touring but also include ATV's Jeeps, 4X4's and families who love to get on adventure! Take a look below!
All of our trips are designed with the idea that we will discover new places, friends, struggles, abilities, and how God fits in our story, all while on Adventure! We are gearing up to make it as easy for you to come along and enjoy the wonderful sport of adventure, camping, and discovery in the back country. These rides and outings are all faith based and have an emphasis on the discovery of God.
We also have rides that cater to the seasoned adventure enthusiast. We plan major rides designed to get you right to the good stuff! These range from 5-9 days, and require some moderate riding experience. We cover a lot of ground each day. Each trip is custom designed and collaborated with you personally. Guaranteed to be an adventure of a lifetime! We are not associated in any way with other touring or route development companies and should not be confused with the like.
STORY IMPORTANT TO US?
Your Life, Your story, is an expository or display designed by God. Every moment, choice, direction, decision has had a purpose since you were formed in the womb. In fact, Scripture teaches the Creator not only known you from the beginning but that He had a plan for you before you were ever conceived. The Word also teaches that were were fearfully and wonderfully made and the Jesus was not only the Author of our faith but our finisher too! On a human plane, we were designed to live out a specific story. A story that would display and become a demonstration of God's goodness towards His people. Along the way, we as humans get lost, even stuck while living out our story. We all have been wired with a portion of faith but to often we misplace our faith in the wrong place ultimately leading to dissatisfaction we become deceived by the enemy into thinking that there is no hope or reason to carry on; no reason to become better than we were a few days ago. By doing so, we take ourselves off display for the world around us to see. Religion takes over and cooks up a better account of our story. One that won't offend others and will certainly give us credibility with others. The Story of our lives gets turned into something that it was never intended to be, ultimately leaving us stranded and ineffective in the rut we call life. The Word of God teaches us that we are Living Epistles. It is for this reason that we place a great deal of importance on understanding our story. It is of utmost importance for a individual to not only tell his or her story but to understand how God has been working in it, how to get un-stuck, and how our story can have such a profound impact on those around us!
IRR also enjoys helping with seasonal preparation, bike modification and maintenance, we specialize in the CRF 1000 Africa Twin and KLR650 because they are both very dependable and capable of going anywhere in the world without breaking the bank!
Plan a 4 hr, one on one ride day as an introduction to Adventure Touring off highway and receive training and instruction while you ride.
What is a PATREON
Patreon is the best way for creators to earn ongoing revenue directly from their fans and the people who love their work.
For creators, Patreon is a way to get paid for creating the things you’re already creating, it could be (webcomics, videos, songs, whatevs). Fans pay a few bucks per month OR per post that you release, and then you get paid every month, or every time you release something new. Learn more about becoming a creator on Patreon HERE.
For patrons, Patreon is a way to join your favorite creator's community and pay them for making the stuff you love and even the memories you've shared. Instead of literally throwing money at your screen (trust us, that doesn’t work), you can now pay a few bucks per month or per post that a creator makes. For example, if you pay $2 per video, and the creator releases 3 videos in February, then your card gets charged a total of $6 that month. This means the creator gets paid regularly (every time he releases something new), In the case of IRR, It's even simpler! To become a Patreon only requires a $1 a month and we keep the videos, news, and stories coming! All we ask is that you share it with 3 of your friends and family. The cool thing is that you become a bonafide, real-life patron of the arts. That’s right--Imagine you, in a long frilly white wig, painted on a 10-foot canvas on the wall of a Victorian mansion or, sporting a IRR sticker! And imagine your favorite creators making a living doing what they do best… because of you. Think of it as partnering in the sharing of great, newly discovered places, and stories that folks don't normally see or get to hear about. There are no limits on how you can contribute and remember that contributions beyond $1 go directly the purchase of better equipment so that we can continue to bring you great adventures at: https://www.patreon.com/IRRAdventureMoto
And for all you artsy people that would rather just watch a video...
We are very passionate about adventure, story, discovery, and friendships and a simple walk of faith! It is for these reasons that we are really exited about sharing the memories that many of you have taken part in with IRR and that you will be able to bring your friends and family along with us on all of our adventures!
Thank you in advance for becoming part of this crazy journey with IRR!

I’ve known John for many years. Very knowledgeable on back country routes and he has much love for simply riding motorcycles. One of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Highly recommended.
John plans some amazing rides! He's fun and knowledgeable. I wish I was retired so I could do as much riding with him as possible!

John thanks for hosting the IRR workshop yesterday, It was great getting together and sharing stories meeting new people and beginning the journey of becoming an ADV rider. The information you shared with the group has made me even more motivated to get out and ride. Looking forward to many more events and being part of IRR. 09/18/16 Best of Sout Central Oregon Ride. I have never met a guy who could do so many different things! On my trip with IRR, around the campfire we talked about how the story of our lives develops and applied principles from the bible that made it simple, and practical, in ways that I could really understand. I'll have memories for years to come and it was truly a life changing experience!
John was a great help in talking me through my first bike purchase and then helped with some of the add-ons needed. I’ve been on two rides with him and one with the group. Great people and a lot of fun.

I did two rides this year with IRR. First a 5 day, Spring ride and another 5 day ride in September, both of them were just John and myself. I’m a beginner to dual-sport riding so, just the two of us was much better for both John and myself as I am a cautious rider and was new to back country adventure touring. If it had been a larger group I would have held up the ride but that said I got to do things I’ve only thought about but never really believed I would do like carry EVERYTHING on the bikes, camping out, riding for 60-70-miles in back country, in the boonies, not a soul any where. Thank God for no breakdowns! We did get snow out in the Steen’s Mountains, east of Frenchglen, Oregon. The rides were COOL!!!
I also wanted to say that John from IRR has been a big help to me setting up my bike to make it my own - from lowering the kick stand and center stand, to lowering the suspension and bike itself, to get me off my tip toes! He helped me with ideas on everything from saddlebags, tank bags, nerf bars, and even the air filter. The list goes on! John knows bikes from KLR’s to Goldwing’s. John knows bikes and it is his joy. He also puts together great rides!
Thanks John and IRR!
I just came across the I RIDE ROGUE website while searching for information on the KLR650. I was impressed with your website, and even more impressed with the work you are doing with riders. Just had to comment on your websites - also nice photography work!
Thank you to I Ride Rogue (IRR) for turning my 2001 KLR650 into a full blown ADVENTURE BIKE! The custom seat and adventure deck was built by John Fairrington. He also added heated grips, GPS mount and power source, a center mount kick stand, new 16T front sprocket. Revitalized all the plastic! Can't wait for my first ADVENTURE!

I've enjoyed riding with John. Trips are well planned with flexibility and fun in mind. We both like to ride hard and I love covering some ground as we explore and visit the sites! Working with IRR to make my KLR650 an amazing machine has been a great experience. All work has been timely and professional within a very competitive price. I am excited to see this group grow and continue to meet our local riders needs and desires. Loving the new mods on my bike John! Thank you so much. I can't wait to get out and explore! Great job IRR!!!
