What do these type of people have in common?
The Redeemed Adventure Project has been able to have an impact on the lives of people who are still trying to figure things out. We share the Good News about what God wants to do in their story and then we walk with them through the messiness of life, while identifying God's work in our adventures. He alone is the Author and Finisher of our Faith!
This has been an amazing year and we couldn't have done it with out your help. Many who support what we are doing don't often see the messy side of loving people who are hurting because with IRR it all has the fun attributes of an epic adventure. When we get folks on adventure, The Lord puts the right people in the right place, to do His work in their lives and I couldn't plan it better by myself! One quick story for the record. This season I had the privilege of spending time with a man who professed that he did not believe in God. He eluded to characterizations of christianity with comments like "Faith is a crutch," "Why would God do this or that?" After a 4 hour conversation of simply hearing his story, I had determined that He had been deeply wounded by an ultra religious father and that He had lost all hope. In short, this man, who wanted nothing to do with God was searching desperately for satisfaction through adventure. We had the opportunity to identify that we were created by God to have an epic adventure. When our conversation had ended. He acknowledged that he had been challenged by our dialogue and that He had never lost a debate on the matters we had discussed. He frequently went back and forth to his camper to think through things, always coming back with new questions. When our conversations finally came to an end He said that he was going to reintroduce himself to the scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to him personally through all of the religious wounds and the twisted perspectives He had been brought up in. He had come full circle from denial that there was a God to recognition that He was a spiritual being and that God was speaking to him during our conversations. When we parted ways, I had a new friend who allowed me to pray for him. We shared our contact information, and then he gave me the biggest thank you hug in our parting that I have ever had. I love this kind of ministry, It is so different than what I was used to when I was pastoring. Most of all I am thankful for the folks who see the value of getting in the ruts with messy people and seeing where the adventure takes us. Thank you for your commitment to this ministry and to the lost folks that Jesus loves more than anything else! Please share this with everyone you know and if you would like to support this ministry, you can do it by clicking the Redeemed Adventure Banner below. Confirm by February 28thDoing life together & Sharing StorySo often, God allows us to travel into very deep valleys, and then pounds us into the shape of that valley so that when others enter those places we are able to identify everything that He was doing while we were there and walk alongside others who visit those very same valleys. It has been such a privilege to see what God has done and continues to do in the stories of those who have been involved in the Redeemed Adventure Project. Everyone who has been associated with this project has seen huge things take place in their own stories and the adventure they are on with God. They are not the kind of people to receive accolades for something that Christ alone is doing in them. I will say however that it has been my privilege to have a very small part in encouraging folks, seeing their story through the lens of Jesus, and then watch Him transform their lives. We have watched the Lord redeem the story of those with addictions, watched him redirect paths, bring hope to those who are loosing hope, and encouragement to the discouraged. We have watched Him build relationships while walking through tough seasons with one another and even had some great adventures. We have rejoiced, cried allot, struggled, won some big fights with the enemy, lost some and got back up. And the whole time we have seen the Lord begin to cultivate something that we have longed for in this culture for a long time. Genuine relationships that share their story and experiences in every way, like living stones that knock off all the ruff edges, walking hand in hand into the conformity of Christ and not another cultural movement. I don’t even know what to call it but it is genuine, authentic, and it is what He has given us to cultivate until He comes. In just this week alone I have had conversations with folks who long for the same type of adventure with the Lord. Folks who feel isolated and alone and long for simplicity and intimacy in their walk with Christ and with those around them. For the first time in my life I have seen God simplistically develop relationships with other believers who long for the same thing and who have had my back through thick and thin. This is by no means a new movement, model, or method for what God is doing. It is just simply doing the things that He has been laying on our heart to do, and realizing that many good things have come as a byproduct of keeping our eyes fixed on Him. With all of that said, we have been praying about what that looks like at least locally for now and have considered gathering for the purpose of doing life together on a more routine basis, perhaps bimonthly to start. If you are interested in this or desire to be a part of something like this, let’s get together, begin to share our stories and see what the Lord does. Please contact us at 541-621-8814. Did you know that the Redeemed Adventure Project literally walks with people who have lost hope in their story. People who have given up on ever getting unstuck, people who are desperate and at the end of their rope, wishing they could move on to a new chapter in their life.
